Shubham Daga's Eye: A Photo Gallery of HONG KONG'S WONDERFUL LANDSCAPES. From skyscrapers to streets

Quick guide

Hotels

1. Holiday Inn Golden Mile, Tsim Sha Tsui - Mid range, heart of the city and wonderful hotel

2. The Kowloon Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui - Budget friendly, right outside a metro station and good breakfast as well

Best areas to be in

Personally, we loved staying in Tsim Sha Tsui. It was an area like no other I've seen. Lights, billboards, cameras and so much of life and action all over just made it the best area to stay in. Highly recommended. There are also a variety of hotels available for all budgets of travellers.

Food pls?

No doubt, this is one of the most important parts of every holiday because come on, who does not like to have a good meal especially during lunch and trying new authentic cuisines of that place. For me personally, it is the part of the trip I look forward to the most (after the airport and the airline). The problem with HK especially is that for vegetarians, it's as difficult as finding free marks in a maths paper. Very few options but at Indian restaurants, you'd find good food but of course, who'd want Indian in such a place? Trying local restaurants in crowded areas which are seemingly hygienic is an excellent choice as there'd always be healthy and clean vegetarian meal options at such places.

Be prepared to explore on foot

Yes, you read it right. In fact, this is not just for HK but for majorly most international destinations. Walking is a very significant part of the trip. On some days, you might even complete 3 days of your combined walking target in a single day. Yet, be assured, it's absolutely not boring. Just looking around while seeing the endless skyscrapers, amazing cars, people walking fast and all kinds of shops, your walk in Hong Kong could never be a boring one. In TST, there is always a tourist spot at every second turning. May it be the corridor of stars or just the Louis Vuitton stores which for people from most parts of India in itself is a tourist destination.

Missing Zomato and blinkit already?

Well, hold up. Foodpanda is basically the Zomato of Hong Kong but what's cooler is the fact that it does not deliver the way like we see in India on regular bikes or scooters. They use electric stand-up scooters. Pretty cool, yea. As far as blinkit is concerned, trust me, shop from seven eleven and you would ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE EXPERIENCE. The variety is such that you would never even expect to find in India so don't miss India's luxury too much because well, it's only limited to India. Shopping at seven eleven is an experience. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Gadgets? What are they?

At such a destination, well, THEY are absolutely useless pieces of junk. Feel free to just jump out of bed and roam around the city by yourself. It has a vibe. A one you would want to experience. The pictures above on the lake are all which were shot by me alone when my parents were busy shopping on the other side. Believe me, evening boat rides at Hong Kong when the skyscrapers surrounding you 360 degrees have the perfect lighting turned on as if they are communicating with each other to make an amazing picture. It is also one of the most safest cities in the world so safety is not really a concern here. Always remember to have local emergency numbers easily accessible on your mobile.
